About the Process
How long does a saddle fitting appointment take?
Most fittings take approximately one hour. This includes the pre-fitting consultation, static saddle assessment, any adjustments, and a dynamic check with you in the saddle.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Just your horse, your current saddle (and any others you'd like assessed), and your riding gear. If you have a saddle pad you regularly use, bring that too — it can affect fit more than people realize.
Do you come to me, or do I come to you?
Patricia travels to you. Synergy Saddle Fit serves riders across New York, Western Massachusetts, and Western Connecticut — no need to haul your horse anywhere.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Appointments typically book at least 2 weeks in advance. The sooner you reach out, the better — especially heading into spring and show season.
About Saddle Fit
How do I know if my saddle doesn't fit?
Common signs include: resistance or tension under saddle, uneven muscle development along your horse's back, a saddle that rocks or slips, difficulty with certain movements, or a horse that used to go well and suddenly doesn't. If something feels off, it's worth having it checked.
Can't I just buy a new saddle?
Not necessarily. Many fit issues can be resolved through flocking adjustments, panel conversions, or tree adjustments — without the cost of a new saddle. Patricia will always give you an honest assessment of whether an adjustment will solve the problem or whether a different saddle is truly needed.
My horse has an unusual shape — can you still help?
Absolutely. Patricia works with all breeds and disciplines, including horses with challenging conformations. The goal is always to find what genuinely fits your horse, not to force a standard solution.
What disciplines do you work with?
Dressage, hunter/jumper, jumpers, eventers, and hunter equitation. If you ride it, we can fit for it.
About Services & Pricing
What does a flocking appointment cost?
Flockings start at $275. The final cost depends on the scope of work needed.
What is a saddle demo and how does it work?
A demo is a trial of an Erreplus Italian Saddlery saddle. Patricia conducts a full static and dynamic assessment, then leaves the saddle with you for a 5-day trial. At the end of the trial, you decide whether to purchase or return it. Demos are $200.
Is there a warranty on flocking work?
Yes — there is a 1-week flocking guarantee. To be valid, the rider must use the saddle during the initial flocking appointment so Patricia can confirm the fit dynamically before she leaves.
Do you offer PEMF therapy?
Yes. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy is available as a standalone service or as a complement to a saddle fitting appointment. It supports muscle recovery, reduces soreness, and promotes overall equine wellness. PEMF service start at $150
